The use of the WelcomeCard Ruhr within the area is valid for journeys taken on public transport. No geographical limit applies to visits to the participating providers of the tourist services. It is possible to visit all the sights independently of their geographical location. If the attraction is outside the chosen geographical area of validity, an additional ticket (at a cost of € 3.50 per trip) is required for a journey on public transport.
The possibility of purchasing an additional ticket is only available in the area covered by the VRR (Rhine Ruhr Transport Authority). The towns and cities covered by the Westphalia tariff (Selm, Werne an der Lippe, Hamm, Lünen, Bergkamen, Kamen, Bönen, Unna, Fröndenberg, Holzwickede and Schwerte) are exempt from this rule. Further information on additional tickets is available here.
The use of the WelcomeCard Ruhr within the areas refers to journeys by public transport. There is no spatial demarcation for the visit of the participating tourist service providers. It is possible to visit all sights regardless of the area. If this attraction falls outside the chosen validity range, an additional ticket (at a price of € 3.60 per route) is required for a public transport connection.
