Planning & Orientation

The Urban.Trails are designed so you can easily start your hike by bus or train. Whether you're planning a circular route or a one-way trip, the starting and ending points are always near bus stops or train stations. This allows you to set off on your hike without worrying about parking or getting back. To ensure you always know your way around the trails, the Urban.Trails use a dual orientation system. The foundation is the classic, signposted trail markers, which guide you safely. In addition, all tours are also available digitally.

STARTING POINT & ORIENTATION

At the start of each trail, you'll find a location portal providing information about the route, distances, and highlights along the way. You can hike the tour clockwise or counter-clockwise. For point-to-point routes, you're also free to start in either direction, although we've intentionally designed the routes with a suggested direction of travel in mind.

WAYSIGNS & MARKINGS

Over time, the trails will be equipped with clear signage at all major intersections. Yellow arrows mark the trail, and the signs also provide information about upcoming highlights.

TRAIL MARKINGS

The trails are marked with Urban.Trails trail markers (green UT or URBN.TRLS on a yellow background). This makes it almost impossible to get lost.

REST POINTS & BREAKS

You'll regularly find rest areas, benches, and small urban oases where you can take a breather, have a picnic, or simply enjoy the surroundings. Grab a colorful bag of snacks from one of the stalls along the way or discover the best food spots along the route.

STAY FLEXIBLE

Whether you follow the trail markers or use digital navigation – you decide how you want to travel. The combination of analog orientation and digital support ensures both safety and freedom. This allows you to fully concentrate on the experience and discover the Urban.Trails in your own way.
