Stage 1: Your start on the coat of arms trail – Ennepetal (Gevelsberg) train station to Hasperbach
Start right at Ennepetal train station! The first stage takes you through the Gevelsberg city forest with beautiful views. Enjoy the varied terrain of forest and meadows.
In the Buntebach Valley. The destination is Am Ahlberg in Hasperbach. Let yourself be captivated by nature!

Stage 2: Through the Kettelbach valley to Peddenöde – Hasperbach to Peddenöde
Your tour starts at Ahlberg and leads you steadily uphill until you reach the highest point near the sports airfield. A highlight is the picturesque Hasper Dam. Cross the dam and continue through the nature reserve. The Siegenbach Valley awaits you at the end. The stage concludes at Peddenöde.

Stage 3: Hammer mills and reservoir view – Peddenöde to Heilenbecke reservoir
A forest path awaits you above the Ennepe River. You'll see fascinating places like the historic Krenzer Hammer (the last open-die forge on the Ennepe!). A short detour leads you to the Ennepe Dam. Beyond the Landwehr (a historic earthwork), you'll reach Herminghausen. The grand finale: the Heilenbecke Dam. Enjoy the natural beauty and the industrial history!

Stage 3 (Alternative/ Circular Route)
This alternative route starts and ends your hike in Ennepetal-Rüggeberg. There you'll find parking and relatively good public transport connections. In Rüggeberg, you'll initially walk south along Hesterberger Straße. After the farmstead (on your right), your path leads left into the forest. This path (keep generally to the right) leads you directly to the Wappenweg trail, which you follow to the right until you reach Herminghausen. There, continue north on Herminghauser Straße back to Rüggeberg. Turn right at Severinghauser Straße to reach your starting point.

Stage 4: Up and down – Heilenbecke Dam to Külchen
Start at the Heilenbecke Dam! Your route takes you across the barrier to Brebach. Hike along the Spreeler Bach stream to Beyenburg. There, cross the L 414 road and reach the picturesque Beyenburg Reservoir. Continue through the lower town with its half-timbered houses and uphill to the church. The destination is the Spreeler Weg hiking parking lot at Külchen. Diverse scenery guaranteed!

Stage 5: The grand finale – Külchen to Ennepetal train station (Gevelsberg)
You start the final leg of your hike at the Spreeler Weg parking area. The trail leads you through meadows and forests to Schwelm and the impressive Haus Martfeld. Passing the Königsfeld spa clinic, you cross the B7 highway. Continuing along Strückerberger Straße and through field paths, you pass the CVJM Gevelsberg clubhouse. The final stretch takes you back to Ennepetal (Gevelsberg) train station – you've reached your destination! Congratulations!
