From the Emscher Valley to the Ruhr Valley – with a trip on NaturLinie 105, you can marvel at both nature and urban development. This tram line has existed in Essen since July 2014. Following the example of KulturLinie 107, Line 105 now offers the opportunity to discover the green side of Essen. On the approximately 20 km long route, you will see green housing estates as in the Moltkeviertel and the Hirtsiefer settlement, park-like cemeteries, nature reserves, forests and idyllic green valleys with small streams.
A train ride that's funny
You may notice that Essen is not only green but also quite hilly during your ride. Highs and hills, valleys and depths – the beautiful sides of Essen are varied and allow you to enjoy the view of the Emscher zone, Hellweg zone and the Ruhr Valley. The KulturLinie is already known beyond the city limits and together with the new NaturLinie, it should contribute to the image change of Essen among residents and visitors to the city. The city has changed: from an industrial metropolis to a city worth living in with culture, nature and numerous recreational opportunities.
