In no other city in the Ruhr Area does football play such an important role as it does in Dortmund. If you want to know everything about Germany's favourite sport, there is no way around Dortmund for you. Since October 2015, the German Football Museum has been telling you the exciting history of German football on a total area of 7,000 m². Embedded in Dortmund's art and culture mile, which includes the Dortmunder U and the Museum for Art and Art History, the "DFM" presents the overall phenomenon of football in Germany in an international context in a unique, emotional and self-confident way.
Football passion in five exhibition areas
In five exhibition areas in the Football Museum,, you will experience the entire diversity of football through technically innovative as well as classical forms of communication. Other scenographic and emotional highlights of the exhibition include a multivision of the history of German football, the treasure trove with the most valuable cups of the national team and club football as well as a "Hall of Fame" for the great German soccer personalities.
A living forum of football encounter
The museum is not only a place of preservation and exhibition, but also a lively forum of encounter and discussion for all members of the football family, fans and clubs as well as associations, friends and sponsors, partners or sponsors. Events such as awards ceremonies, press conferences, readings or TV productions in a separate event area contribute to this.
