The Center for International Light Art, opened in 2002, transforms historical industrial architecture into an innovative spectacle. Here, the old and the new meet in a harmonious symbiosis that captivates visitors.
A 52-meter-high chimney, known as one of the region's landmarks, bears Mario Merz's "Fibonacci series." These neon blue numbers, which light up the night sky, symbolize natural growth processes in an impressive manner. Below ground, in the catacomb-like vaults of the former brewery, the works of art unfold their full effect and interweave technology with art.
Heads-up: Visits are only possible as part of a guided tour. However, individual exploration is permitted on the first Sunday of each month.
