The RVR Hoheward Visitor Centre is the Ruhr region's visitor centre for spoil heaps. Located at the foot of the Hoheward spoil heap, on the grounds of the historic Ewald coal mine, it offers a unique blend of industrial heritage and landscape experience. The result is the Hoheward Landscape Park – Europe's largest spoil heap landscape from hard coal mining, situated in the heart of the Ruhr region.
As a tourist information center, the RVR Visitor Center Hoheward offers its guests a wide range of information and adventure tours. It combines local and regional information about the Haldenpark, the Industrial Heritage Route, and other tourist attractions.
