Located between Lake Barbara and Lake Berta in the Duisburg Sports Park, the Regatta Course is a unique rowing venue. Measuring 2.180 meters long and 120 meters wide, this former quarry has hosted numerous major competitions, including the 1989 Universiade and the Canoe Sprint World Championships, which were held here as recently as 2023. A few weeks after this sporting event ended, scaffolding was erected and bulldozers began work as part of a comprehensive €30 million renovation program to ensure the Regatta Course remains one of the world's most popular rowing venues.
