Today, part of the castle is a museum. After extensive renovation, it will reopen in 2022. The Unna district will then show changing art exhibitions on the ground floor, while the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Association (LWL) will show its permanent exhibition on Baron vom Stein on the upper floor.
The district of Unna showed changing exhibitions in the middle wing of the castle, some of which were unique and well-received in Germany. From April 8, 2022, the section will be open to visitors again after five years of construction, during which the castle was extensively renovated inside and out.
The exhibitions are completely barrier-free for all visitors. An elevator takes you to the LWL's permanent exhibition on the upper floor, the Unna district's temporary exhibition on the ground floor and the rooms in the basement.
