Recklinghausen Art Gallery

The Recklinghausen Art Gallery has been an innovative art hotspot in the Ruhr area since it was founded in 1950. Originally set up in the former bunker at the main train station to enrich the Ruhr Festival with visual art, it has developed into a unique melting pot for art, which primarily highlights works created after 1945. A highlight for art enthusiasts is the 'Junge Westen' art prize, whose winners are presented in changing exhibitions.

The impressive exhibitions feature artists such as Per Kirkeby, Ayse Erkmen and Guillaume Bijl present, who turn the architecture of the Kunsthalle into a work of art with space-related works. This offers explorers of the 'Expeditive Milieu' the opportunity to be inspired by the boundless creativity and to experience new perspectives.

Experience a dynamic program full of surprises that goes far beyond the classic museum experience. Discover spaces that invite exchange and reflection and let yourself be carried away by the energy of contemporary art.
