Künstlerzeche Unser Fritz 2/3

In 1964, under the visionary leadership of Helmut Bettenhausen, the Unser Fritz 2/3 artists' mine was developed from a disused mine. This place is more than a simple testimony to the past - it is a pulsating hub of modern industrial culture. Bettenhausen recognized the potential of mining architecture early on, which courageously opened itself up to cultural change and served as an inspiring backdrop for creative development.

Today, Unser Fritz 2/3 inspires with a diverse program of events, ranging from exhibitions and discussions to concerts and readings. Artist studios and exhibition rooms invite you to experience the creative power up close. This is a space for curiosity and creative exchange that not only inspires, but also opens up new horizons. The former conveyor machine hall is particularly impressive, having established itself as an ideal event location thanks to its unusual architecture.

The area surrounding the mine enhances the charm of this unique cultural asset: a play forest with a cultural garden and the summer restaurant "Steinmeister's Biergarten - Oskar am Kanal" offer a relaxed atmosphere in the open air. The offer is complemented by a jetty for passenger ships in the immediate vicinity - perfect opportunities to explore the area both on water and on land.
