The history of Essen/Mülheim Airport stretches back approximately 100 years. Today, it is primarily used by motor planes and gliders, as well as the airship Theo – one of only six airships in the world. A walking tour takes you across the roughly 140-hectare WDL site, including a visit to the aircraft hangar and, depending on availability, the airship hangar.
