When it was completed in 1929, Josef Franke's Holy Cross Church on Bochumer Strasse in Gelsenkirchen-Ückendorf was one of the most spectacular church buildings of the early modern era and is of outstanding national importance. It was decommissioned in August 2007. As an exceptional event venue, it will attract guests from the region and will be the cultural center of the district on Bochumer Strasse.
The new venue is operated by Emschertainment GmbH.
