The Klavier-Festival Ruhr presents quality artists for its 30th anniversary. Diverse and individually programmable concerts await you during this period.
French piano music is the primary focus this year due to it falling on the 100th anniversary of the death of Claude Debussy. The festival will be opened by Pierre-Laurent Aimard, the Klavier-Festival Ruhr 2003 prize winner.
Encouraging the young pianists of the future
Young pianists of the future are also encouraged at the festival alongside worldwide-renowned artists such as Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Daniel Barenboim, Khatia Buniatishvili, and Hélène Grimaud. Around 20 young pianists are invited to the festival every year.
Enjoy a unique experience with classical music, jazz, recitals, chamber and orchestral concerts in the largest festival of its type in the world. Between 50,000 and 60,000 visitors will enjoy a particularly high quality event due to the excellence of the individual concerts.
