EMG – Essen Marketing GmbH and innogy SE will present the winter open-air extravaganza ESSEN.ON.ICE beneath the shimmering lights on the Kennedyplatz. Whether skating, tobogganing, or curling - this winter experience ensures plenty of seasonal fun.
During the 18th edition of ESSEN.ON.ICE then children and adults, skilled and rookie ice-skaters can head off onto the ice beneath a glorious display of lights that has an area of over 1,000 square metres. You can also find Europe’s largest mobile toboggan run nearby, with a ramp of almost 70 metres in length, on which you can slide down in snow tubes.
Winter fun and amusement in Essen
Glide across the ice to the latest tunes beneath shimmering lights - you can do this every Saturday from 6pm in “Disco on Ice”. For four hours you can demonstrate how well you can skate and dance on the ice. If the atmosphere is great, then the DJ hangs around a bit longer.
Children who want to have a go on the ice for the first time are in the right place with “Kids on Ice”. Experienced coaches show your children how to move properly on the ice every Sunday at 2pm. Are you a fan of classical music? If so, then on Sunday during “Allbau Classic on Ice” at 4pm you are invited to take to the ice with waltzes, operettas, and musicals playing in the background.
Austrian flair in ESSEN.ON.ICE
The original Austrian Schmankerl Hüttn from Bergmann Eventgastronomie will provide great food during ESSEN.ON.ICE in 2018. Typical food and drink will be served with typical Alpine flair.
