Ruhrtriennale – Festival of the Arts

The Ruhrtriennale is an established cultural event in the Ruhr region, showcasing contemporary art in unique spaces during late summer. Former industrial sites, halls, warehouses, and open spaces are transformed into venues for productions, concerts, and performances that directly engage with the architecture and history of these locations.

The festival is aimed at anyone open to new artistic approaches and interested in formats that lie between theater, music, performance, and installation. Many productions are developed specifically for the Ruhrtriennale or newly created for the venues used. This results in an experience that clearly distinguishes itself from traditional performance spaces.
