Arcadi Volodos plays as if an entire stage play were unfolding on the piano. Every note tells a story, every turn surprises. Virtuosity, tension, and depth merge into an experience that draws you directly into the sonic narrative. Even familiar pieces gain new drama under his hands, filling the room with intensity – and making every moment unique.

Volodos, born in 1972 in Saint Petersburg, is considered one of the great sound magicians of our time. His interpretations are renowned for their poetic depth and technical brilliance. "I don't play for effect, but for the truth of the sound," says Volodos – and that's precisely what you feel in every one of his concerts.

The program begins with a selection of works by Frédéric Chopin: three mazurkas – in B minor, Op. 33 No. 4, in E minor, Op. 41 No. 2 and in F minor, Op. 63 No. 2 – followed by the Prelude in C-sharp minor, Op. 45 and the Sonata No. 2 in B minor, Op. 35, whose famous funeral march is one of the iconic moments in piano literature.

The second part features Franz Schubert's Sonata No. 21 in B-flat major, D 960, a work of symphonic breadth and melancholic depth, which is among the composer's last great creations.
