A plant that talks, grows, and is hungry: hungry for human flesh. This comes in handy for flower shop worker Seymour. The plant was originally meant to save Mr. Mushnik's business from ruin; now it seems to be helping the shy botanist in matters of love as well. Its thirst for human blood helps Seymour eliminate unpleasant romantic rivalry. The goal: to win over his colleague Audrey. So it's no surprise that her sadistic friend and dentist, Orin, mysteriously disappears. But the situation takes a turn for the worse when the growing plant finally demands Seymour and Audrey's flesh... With "Little Shop of Horrors," a true cult musical returns to Gelsenkirchen, telling a wonderfully whimsical story of love, dreams, and megalomania with blood-soaked songs. Director Carsten Kirchmeier takes the original 1960 film as his aesthetic model and transforms the stage in the Kleines Haus into a real picture strip. With that in mind: Roll the film!
