The town of Selm lies in the extreme North-west of the district of Unna and therefore of the Metropolis Ruhr. The highlight of the town is Cappenberg Palace, making Selm a popular excursion destination during a city break in the Ruhr Area.

 

In the Cappenberg quarter, situated on a mountain ridge that dominates the landscape, lies Cappenberg Palace. The palace is a popular leisure destination where numerous events and exhibitions take place. In Cappenberg is also home to the former Cappenberg collegiate and abbey church, where today, organ and vesper concerts are held.
