Capital of Culture by bicycle

 

Once there, you attend a tour of the once most beautiful and powerful coal mine in the world for around two hours. Thereafter you complete the remainder of the day’s leg comfortably by bike to your hotel in Bottrop. The evening in Bottrop is free to spend as you please. The next morning you cycle towards Duisburg. Along the “green path” the track takes you to the Gasometer, one of the largest and most spectacular exhibition halls in the world and the shopping mall CentrO in Oberhausen. A visit to the 117-metre high viewing platform of the Gasometer is highly recommended. From here you get a fantastic panoramic view of the metropolis. The CentrO promenade in the Neue Mitte with its numerous gastronomic establishments invites for a short break. You hand back your rented bicycle at the Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord before you explore the exciting sights of the former blast furnace. A qualified tour guide explains on the basis of many illustrative examples what can be understood from strucural changes in the Duisburg-Nord Landschaftspark.
