The AquaPark in Oberhausen is a swimming pool with mining decor. It is right by the CentrO shopping centre, and is a popular excursion destination for families at weekends and during the holidays.

One of the most attractive swimming pools in the Ruhr Area is the AquaPark in Oberhausen, furnished in mining style! Particularly families with children can engage in sporting activity here, enjoy themselves, and simultaneously dive into the history of the Ruhr Area.

The AquaPark in Oberhausen is meant as a living mining museum, a declaration of love for the Ruhr Area and its inhabitants. In the foyer, for example, miners' hooks hang from the ceiling, and glowing illuminated coals flame around the cashiers' area.

Big photos of miners and industrial landscapes give a glance into the time of coal extraction and the camaraderie of the Metropolis Ruhr. This unusual exhibition is supported by the Westphalian Museum of Industry. There are both indoor and outdoor swimming facilities, there is a spa and relaxation area, water slides and diving boards.

Neue Mitte Oberhausen

Oberhausen

Oberhausen shows its original idyllic side at Oberhausen mansion, and particularly in the old town centre near the Central Station, the old market place, Friedensplatz and Ebertplatz. If you want to immerse yourself in the history of the city, the best places to go are the Rhineland Industrial Museum which contains an outstanding collection of exhibits illustrating 150 years history in the iron and steel industry, and the Eisenheim settlement, the oldest working-class housing estate in the Metropolitan Ruhr Area.
