Stadthalle
The Mülheim city hall is a popular venue for events in the Ruhr Area, with theatre, concerts, comedy, cabaret and exhibitions. The representative structural memorial, ideally located right on the Ruhr river, was built in the 1920s as a cultural event centre.
Large numbers of columns, arches and round windows, combined with the shell limestone with which the facade is trimmed, make up the special attraction of the building, and brought Mülheim a step closer to its reputation as "the Venice of the Ruhr". Today the hall is a highly modern convention and event centre, and a venue for cultural events such as concerts, shows and theatre.
