The element water is the focus of the Aquarius Water Museum in Mülheim an der Ruhr. Located in one of the most attractive water towers in the Ruhr Area, over 100 years old, adults and children alike can use exciting and innovative multimedia technology to learn everything there is to know about the wet element, and get to know the Metropolis Ruhr better. 

A better location than the monument-protected tower in Mülheim an der Ruhr could hardly have been chosen for an exhibition that tells the stories of water. Over 14 levels and divided into 21 subject areas, a wide array of knowledge is offered on the subject of water. A chipcard ticket received at the entrance is the key to around 30 multimedia stations throughout the building.

Films, simulations and games are mostly activated simply by tapping on them. Those who want to can answer quiz questions at the individual stations. The results are stored on the visitor chipcard, and can be evaluated at the end. The tour of the exhibition begins at the top level of the water tower. Glass elevators bring the visitors through the water containers, some of which are still filled, to the panorama platform. From there, visitors have a marvellous view over the fields of the Ruhr Area.
