The old town of Mülheim an der Ruhr impresses guests on a city break in the Ruhr Area with its tranquility and beauty.


In one of the prettiest buildings in Mülheim's old town, the Tersteegen House, there is now located the Heimat Museum containing the cultural history collection of the town. The religious poet and pastor Gerhard Tersteegen, born in 1697 in Moers, lived here from 1746, and died here in 1769. The museum informs visitors about the history of the town of Mülheim.
