Grillo Theater

Grillo theatre is the oldest city theatre in the Ruhr area and the centre of "Essen's drama". The great classics are staged here. The director Anselm Weber and his team have made Essen drama a major cultural highlight in the Ruhr area.

 

Grillo theatre in the city of Essen is more than just a theatre: Performances are given not only on the large stage but also on the Casa and Box studio stages. In the Heroes bar small drama productions, dancing and concert evenings take place. 

Café Central is the venue for events such as lectures, readings and entertaining recitals. Situated in Essen's pedestrian precinct, Grillo theatre is the perfect venue for a cultural event in the evening during a city break in Essen. As an event venue the theatre is extremely popular in cultural circles.
