Westfalenpark Dortmund
Westfalenpark (Westphalia Park) Dortmund, which as an attractive and active leisure park, is a major excursion destination for the town and region with its many opportunities for "relaxing – learning – experiencing". Families in particular enjoy the tranquillity of the park and use it as a relaxing stop on a short trip to the Ruhr area.
The horticultural grounds and the rose path in Westfalenpark are particularly eye-catching. The park houses various themed gardens with rare plants. Dortmund's Westfalenpark is also a popular location for events in the Ruhr area- with parties, festivals, events, theatre, music, and flea and garden markets.
Family destination in the Ruhr area
Westfalenpark is also one of the key excursion destinations for families in the Ruhr area. The Spielbogen (playing curve) is a lot of fun and the children's museum mondo mio! invites you to marvel, take part and join in. Here, children can get to know a total of 25 different cultures using play.
One of the best views across the Ruhr area is offered by the visitors platform and the revolving restaurant in the 209 metre high Florianturm (Florian tower). Every visitor should take its time for an ascent up the television tower during a city break to Dortmund.
