Dinslaken
The city of Dinslaken is developing more and more into an attractive excursion destination in the Metropolis Ruhr. As an insiders' tip in the Ruhr Area, the town located in the Wesel district attracts visitors with its very special sights.
The Creative.Quarter Lohberg located upon the colliery that bears the same name was developed as a project of the European Capital of Culture RUHR.2010. It is intended to encourage the establishment of creative companies and artists. The studios are particularly well worth a visit. As an industrial monument and part of the Industrial Heritage Route, Lohberg Colliery is also very much worth seeing.
The Mill Museum provides a further highlight in Dinslaken. Further event venues that host exciting events include the Burgtheater [castle theatre], the Kathrin Türks Hall or the City Library Roof Studio. The Sculpture Route is particularly popular in Dinslaken. After some sculpture exhibitions were held in 2002, the Sculpture Route was developed with the aid of sponsors in order to keep as many of the exhibits as possible in the city.
