LUDWIGGALERIE in the castle of Oberhausen

The LUDWIGGALERIE in Oberhausen palace is one of the cultural highlights in Oberhausen, and thrills visitors with a wide variety of temporary exhibitions. It is easy to reach using the A42 autobahn, making the LUDWIGGALERIE an ideal attraction city break through the Ruhr Area.

The museum shows a wide range of modern art from the collection of the famous collector couple, Peter and Irene Ludwig. Alongside this, popular exhibitions of popular artists in comics, video art, photography and poster art are also shown.

Interesting temporary exhibitions in the LUDWIGGALERIE

The Tiger Duck by Janosch and his fantastical worlds have been hosted here, Jim Rakete displayed his photographs of world-famous celebrities from films, music, politics and art; but also drawings by Baselitz, Lüpertz and Penck, paintings by Dürer and Picasso, and the art of the ancient world are displayed here.
