Museum DKM, Duisburg
This museum in the Duisburg city centre opened in January 2009. When the residential and commercial property was converted, the focus was laid on muted clarity, which allows the art from the DKM private collection to take pride of place.
More than 50 rooms with varying architectural character, which have views onto the outside area, are spread over 2,700 square metres for the roughly 1,200 exhibits. The permanent exhibition “Linien stiller Schönheit” (lines of quiet beauty) is characterised by the counterpart to contemporary and past artistic style, the preoccupation with Asian-influenced mentalities and timeless aesthetics.
