Museum of Natural History

Dinosaurs-museum and aquarium: The Museum of Natural History in Dortmund is a perfect excursion destination for families with children in the Ruhr Area.

Two life-size reconstructions of dinosaurs welcome the visitors when they arrive. The museum's stocks include collections from Westphalia, and showpieces from around the world.

One of the biggest attractions is the fresh water aquarium, which visitors are free to walk around, and which shows native fish species from the river Ruhr and from the Möhnesee (Moene lake). Minerals and precious stones are also on display.
