Mühlenmuseum in Dinslaken

In the small neighborhood Hiesfeld the Mühlenmuseum Dinslaken can be found. Among the beautiful nature of the Rotbach the museum offers a watermill as well as windmill. They serve to show visitors the development of millers' crafts.

The Mill Museum in Dinslaken-Hiesfeld is one of the surprises amongst the 200 museums in the Ruhr Area. In the idyllic natural surroundings at the edge of the Ruhr metropolis, visitors learn interesting facts about water mills, wind mills, and the miller's craft.

The Mill Museum consists of the wind mill tower built in 1822 in the centre of what is now the district of Hiesfeld, and of the water mill built close to the Rotbach river in 1693. Both have since been restored, and now serve as showplaces for demonstrations of the miller's craft.

Over 3 floors, models of more than 60 mills from around the world are displayed. Special shows such as photography exhibitions round off the collection.
