Josef Albers Museum Quadrat Bottrop
The museum centre, Quadrat, was opened in 1976 and in 1983 the Josef Albers Museum was added as an extension. It houses the largest public collection of this Bottrop-born artist and includes paintings, graphic prints, glass objects and paintings on paper.
All around the building complex in the city park, there is a collection of contemporary sculptures, which have been integrated harmoniously into the landscape with many visual axes oriented towards the museum. Josef Albers (1888 - 1976) is one of the most prominent artists of the second half of the 20th century.
