Zeiss Planetarium Bochum
The sky over the Ruhr Area can best be observed from the planetarium in Bochum. At the Zeiss Planetarium in Bochum, you can look into the infinite expanses of the night sky in a particularly impressive way.
The facility was set up in 1964, and is still amongst the most modern planetaria in the world. The events here are some of the most exciting in the Ruhr Area.
A central projector casts up to 9,000 starts onto the roof, and hence produces a realistic sky from any desired point on Earth and from any time period. The Zeiss Planetarium in Bochum is modern, informative and entertaining for both young and old.
The three main programmes illuminate the night sky thematically from various sides. The planetarium is also a favourite venue for concerts and provides an unusual location for lectures, exhibitions and sky-watching. There are special programmes for small children and for school children on class outings.
