Breckerfeld
The historical Hanseatic town of Breckerfeld located in the southern Ennepe Ruhr District is a particularly worthwhile excursion destination for those who enjoy hiking and for nature fans. Large woodlands and beautiful dams provide ideal touring opportunities.
The Glörtalsperre dam is an ideal destination for short breaks. Visitors need a good hour to walk the circular path around the artificial lake. A natural pool and excursion restaurant round off the tourist offerings. The "Glörtalsperre" dam is also very popular for motorbike tours.
The Way of St. James - one of the most famous pilgrim routes in Europe - runs through Breckerfeld. For this reason, pilgrims from all over the world take a rest in the tranquil town and provide international flair for a few days. The Breckerfeld medieval town fortification is not to be missed when visiting the town.
