Tetraeder Bottrop
The Tetrahedron in Bottrop is one of the most popular places of interest and lookout points in the Ruhr area. The accessible work of art at the peak of a slagheap is illuminated at night time and is visible for miles around. The visit will be a highlight on a city break in the Metropolis Ruhr.
Someone with a sense of the effectiveness of icons and symbolic locations placed a large sculpture in the form of an accessible steel pipe construction with viewing platforms and artistic light installations on a Bottrop mining slagheap and the "slagheap experience view of Emscher" was born - it is now Bottrop's landmark.
The Tetrahedron itself is 50 metres high and stands on four pillars which gives it a certain weightlessness from afar. If you take on the ascent to the Tetrahedron you will be rewarded with a wonderful view. The steel framework can also be climbed upon without getting giddy. The illumination of the Tetrahedron at night is particularly impressive.
